Free Seminar provides information about Senior Living Options

SENIORS represent one of the fastest growing segments of our population.  "Sixty two years and better" presents a whole new set of priorities, choices, challenges and issues that require new information and  an understanding of what the future may bring you during the rest of your life.

We have many clients in this “golden age” who are pondering their options.  Clients have told us that they’d like to downsize because their home is too big, too much work to maintain or has too many stairs. These Seniors may want to move, but aren’t sure of their options so we’ve decided to provide a special Free Seminar:  Senior Living Options  that will provide information to help start this sometimes challenging transition.

The Arcadia Foundation* has provided substantial assistance for the development of 15 Craigside Retirement Residence. With over 40 years of experience in serving seniors in Honolulu, they have a wealth of information on the topic.  The Arcadia Foundation  and 15 Craigside along side of the Ihara Team** will offer a free seminar - Senior Living Options Seminar designed to address key questions such as:

1. How do I support a loved one’s senior lifestyle?
2. What are the options if I choose to remain at home?
3. What are my choices in Senior Living Communities?
4. If I need to sell my home to move into a Senior Living Community, who can help me?

This seminar is also an opportunity for Seniors and their families to learn about the different home care and home health options available in Hawaii, along with the average cost of services to support one’s needs.  You’ll also get a quick course in industry terms and definitions, and how Medicare or Long Term Care Insurance may fit into the home care picture.

You’ll also receive tips on:

1. How to research and ultimately select a home care or home health agency that fits your needs
2. How to plan for future and/or expanded needs which may arise as you age.
3. Understanding  the difference between a monthly rental and a “buy-in” community.
4. An introduction to the major retirement communities on Oahu
5. What to look for and how to identify services and amenities that will match a community to one’s personal needs and preferences.
